Heinrich Lossow (1843-1897)

Heinrich Lossow was born in Munich. He is the son of sculptor Arnold H. Lossow and the brother of the animal painter Friedrich Lossow. He studied at the Munich Academy. Painter of genre, it draws its inspiration largely in the style of Rococo. Alongside his career as a painter, Heinrich Lossow developed his art in the illustration. He has pictures of an edition of the Windsor Joyeuses commères of Shakespeare. It is also the author of a production inspired iconography erotic (Metamorphoses, The Triumph of Cupid), even pornographic, today sought amateurs.
Lossow was also curator of the gallery painting Schleissheim near Munich
